CHS Haiti Total

Following the terrible disaster in Haiti it is important that as a school community we do something to aid the victims of the earthquake. Thank you to all who have contributed to and organised the different fund raising events that continue to take place in school. Should parents/carers wish to make a donation, please make cheques payable to ‘Claremont High School’ and either post or give to your child to deliver to their form tutor. Alternatively you can donate via the Haiti donation link to the right of this page. A total amount raised will be published during the course of next week. We will forward the money raised to the Disaster Emergency Committee, which is a government sponsored organisation. http://www.dec.org.uk/ Thank you.

Haiti Disaster

"I have seen the enormous benefits of leading an achievement focused school with an expectation of the highest standards of behaviour and excellence in the academic and social achievement of all of our learners.

Our school's mission statement is the driving force behind all that we do here at Claremont High School. It enables us to engender in our learners a genuine appreciation of traditional standards of courtesy, respect for one another and our different beliefs, and the ambition to do well by working hard."

Welcome to Claremont High School, below is an animated box highlighting the recent events and activities happening around Claremont High School, this is where you will see updated news on important Claremont avtivities!

Welcome to Claremont High School’s Web Site. . .
Any organisation’s website can only give you a snap shot of what actually goes on inside that organisation. Where schools are concerned it is even more difficult to show the excellent teaching and learning that takes place on a day-to-day basis. What we have tried to do in this Claremont website is to give you the information that we feel you will need to introduce you to the school in the hope that you will wish to find out more about our work by visiting us or by making more personal contact with us.

Since becoming a Specialist College for Performing Arts in 2001 here at Claremont we have been able to build on our success as a community comprehensive school: employing additional specialist staff; investing in high quality information, communication and technology equipment, available to all subject areas; expanding the curriculum offer at KS3, KS4 and post 16; creating and sustaining greater opportunities for staff, pupils and community groups to engage in a vast range of enrichment and learning activities; commissioning an architect designed multi-purpose arts hall costing nearly half a million pounds (2002) and architect designed Sports Complex and refurbishing specialist teaching areas.

Being a school with multi specialisms means being able to offer breadth, variety and choice not only in the specialist subjects but also in the core curriculum as well: Maths, Science, English and Humanities teaching has remained and will remain a high priority for the school.

I know that I speak for the Governors, Staff, and pupils when I say that we are proud of the achievements of our school and that we welcome the opportunity to work with and learn from all of those who share our commitment to success.
