New Sports Hall Open Tuesday 29th January saw double Olympic Gold Medallist Dame Kelly Holmes open the new Sports Hall, Changing Rooms and Drama Space Building. The £2.3m project has taken 18 months to complete and provides the school with an excellent sports hall, with a full size basketball and netball courts or four badminton courts and facilities for other indoor sports. During the opening ceremony Dame Kelly and the assembled guests saw a video about the development of the project and heard Dame Kelly recount how important sport was to her and why she is now passionate about the provision of modern sports facilities in all schools. After the ceremony Dame Kelly toured the new facilities and met a number of students who were lucky enough also to see her gold medals from the 2004 Olympics. |
