Mathematics is a core subject that is studied by all pupils in year's seven to eleven. To continue to study Maths at A Level, a GCSE grade A in mathematics is needed. There are many careers which involve mathematics on a variety of different levels. You will need to be well qualified in maths to be a surveyor, an engineer, an actuary, an accountant, but many other jobs require some level of mathematics! There are four main sections of the mathematics curriculum, number, algebra, shape and handling data.
