Paws for thought with Luna…

Claremont’s very own ‘Therapy Dog’ shares her early experiences at the school

I need a lie-down! These past couple of weeks, I’ve been run off my paws with meetings of one sort or another. Not to mention college assemblies. But my pets - they call themselves my ‘handlers’, bless them - are very good to me and make sure I get plenty of rest.

I’ve mostly been spending time with Ms Conroy and Ms Popat in their offices, getting used to their rooms and other spaces about the school. I especially like the smells coming from a place called Monty’s… I might suggest we relocate there.

My favourite thing has been meeting the students, who seem very interested in me and like spending time in my company. I’m happy just to listen and let my pets do the talking, but I do offer the occasional bark of advice. We Old English Sheepdogs are a clever breed, you know, and like to help where we can.

I also met my fellow Emerald College members. They’re a lively lot – plenty of excited chatter. (I think some of them might be sheepdogs in disguise.)

Well, I can’t sit around nattering all day… Work to do. Perhaps I’ll see you around school? I’ll be the one taking my ‘handler’ for a walk – fresh air is good for them!
