Our transition and induction programme will support you every step of the way.
Claremont High School Academy Trust provides a structured transition and induction programme designed to help students feel confident, welcomed and prepared for the next stage of their education. The programme offers opportunities to explore subject choices, meet key members of staff, build new friendships and become familiar with the Sixth Form environment.
Summer Taster Day
During the summer term, prospective Sixth Form students are invited to attend a taster day, where they will have the opportunity to experience lessons in all the subjects they are interested in studying.
This allows students to gain a valuable insight into the content, teaching and expectations of their chosen courses, helping them make informed decisions about their post-16 pathways. The day also provides an opportunity to experience Sixth Form learning and begin preparing for the transition from Year 11.
Induction Day
The formal induction programme takes place on a dedicated Induction Day in September, designed to welcome students into the Sixth Form community and ensure they feel comfortable and prepared for the start of their studies.
During the day, students will:
- Meet the Sixth Form team and become familiar with the staff who will support them throughout their two years of study.
- Be introduced to the dedicated Sixth Form spaces, including the Sixth Form Café, the Flex, the Street and the Mezz, helping them become familiar with the facilities available to them.
- Take part in introductory sessions that outline the expectations, routines and opportunities associated with Sixth Form life.
- Participate in team-building activities designed to help them form friendships, build positive relationships and develop a strong sense of belonging.
Together, the Summer Taster Day and Induction Day provide students with a supportive introduction to Sixth Form life, helping them feel informed, connected and ready to make the most of their two years at Claremont.
